Terms of Service (End-User License Agreement)

These Terms cover your use of the ChatBound RPG Twitch Extension and its chat game (together, the "Extension"). ChatBound RPG is made and run by Jaesaen ("we"). It runs on Twitch but is not made or run by Twitch. By using the Extension on any Twitch channel, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Extension.

1. License

As long as you follow these Terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license, which we can take back, to use the Extension on Twitch channels where the streamer has installed it. The Extension is licensed to you, not sold.

2. Twitch account

You need a Twitch account in good standing. The Extension uses Twitch's sign-in, chat, Bits and subs. If Twitch suspends or closes your account, you also lose access to the Extension.

3. How the game works

• You play with chat commands and with the buttons in the Panel and Overlay.
• The Main Game has one save per viewer, and it follows you to every channel that uses the Extension.
• Chat commands act in the channel where you type them. Some channel-wide moments, such as world bosses and event bosses, may only run in certain channels.
• Your game progress, items, gold and rankings have no real-money value and cannot be cashed out.

4. Streamer controls

• A streamer chooses whether to connect chat, and can turn the chat game off or disconnect at any time. Connecting chat lets the ChatBound bot read game commands in that channel and reply to them.
• A streamer can set chat to Normal, Slow or Pause. In Slow, commands have limits and cooldowns. In Pause, the game ignores chat commands, and commands sent during a Pause are not run later. Panel and Overlay play keep working.
• During a Twitch Shared Chat session the game stays quiet in chat.
• Game replies in chat are limited, and some replies may be skipped. Your rewards and progress are still saved.

5. Credits, Bits and subs

• Credits are a Main Game currency for cosmetics only. They do not make your character stronger.
• You can get Credits on Jaesaen's channel by exchanging Bits for a Credits pack in the Panel, or by subscribing, resubscribing, receiving a gifted sub or gifting a sub. Subscribers also get a daily Credits bonus when they play. The amount for each pack is shown in the Panel.
• Bits are handled by Twitch under Twitch's Bits Acceptable Use Policy. We never see your payment details. Credits packs always give the amount shown, with nothing random.
• Credits have no cash value. They cannot be refunded, exchanged for money, or transferred to another account.
• If Twitch reverses a Bits exchange, we remove the Credits from that pack.
• If we change what packs or cosmetics cost, we will explain why on Jaesaen's channel or in the Panel.
• Subscriber perks follow your current sub on Jaesaen's channel. If your sub ends, the perks stop. Credits you already received stay yours.

6. Rules

Do not:

• Use bots, macros or scripts to play, except features the game itself offers (such as auto-explore).
• Spam commands or try to overload the Extension or get around its limits.
• Use bugs or exploits to get ahead. If you find one, please report it.
• Sell, trade or transfer characters, items, gold or Credits for real money or anything outside the game.
• Use the Extension to harass, threaten or harm anyone, or to advertise or spam.
• Pretend to be another viewer, a streamer or us.
• Use someone else's Twitch account without their permission.
• Reverse-engineer the Extension beyond what is normally visible in your browser.

Twitch's Community Guidelines apply to everything you do in the Extension.

7. Game changes

The game is still growing. We may change balance, rewards, items, maps, events and features, and we may reset parts of the game when needed to fix problems. We will try to protect your progress and anything you got with Credits.

8. Ownership

The Extension's code, art, sounds, writing and game systems belong to Jaesaen and are protected by copyright and other laws. Using the Extension does not give you ownership of any of it. "Twitch" is a trademark of Twitch Interactive, Inc.

9. No warranty

THE EXTENSION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. THE EXTENSION MAY PAUSE, SLOW DOWN OR LOSE CONNECTION. WE DO NOT PROMISE THAT YOUR PROGRESS WILL SURVIVE A BUG, OUTAGE OR DATA LOSS, ALTHOUGH WE MAKE BEST EFFORTS TO PROTECT IT.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, GAME PROGRESS OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE EXTENSION. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY WILL NOT BE MORE THAN THE GREATER OF (A) THE VALUE OF THE BITS YOU EXCHANGED IN THE EXTENSION IN THE THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE U.S. DOLLAR.

11. Suspension

We may suspend or end your access to the Extension, with or without notice, if you break these Terms, abuse the game, or when the law or a Twitch policy requires it. Suspension does not refund Bits or Credits. Sections 6, 8, 9 and 10 still apply after your access ends.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Big changes will be announced on Jaesaen's Twitch channel and in the Extension's Panel at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using the Extension after that, you accept the new Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Illinois. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, this does not take away your consumer rights under local law.
